Well, it is 40 below this morning and it's Saturday. As I am sitting here at the computer I can hear the house popping from the cold! We got our electric bill yesterday and it was, can you believe this, $455.00!! Electricity went up and ugh!!! Alms for the poor??? lol!
Sometimes I feel that I should go out and get a job to help with expenses but when I think about what might happen to my children when I am not there, it scares me!! God will provide if we trust Him. I know my place is with my children and I can confidently say that I have good children. Because I (volunteer) teach at their school and we do things together, They are happy first of all, and has made good choices so that they can be used by God.
Joy has had guys interested in her but Bill and I have told her from kindergarten that we have rules in this house and one of them is that they will not date! Dating is a set up for divorce. When people date, they (fall in love) and find out that oops, I am mistaken, lets find someone else! So you are giving yourself to him and him and him and, well, you get my meaning. What we do in our church and even if we didn't go to our church, we court. That means that when they are ready to get married, that they pray and ask God to help them find a Godly spouse. They will never be alone with them, they can see each other at church, in my home etc. and really pray about being married to them for the rest of their lives.
Did you know that when you get married, when the preacher says "now you may kiss the bride," that is supposed to be the first kiss?? I didn't know that.
Anyway, there are so many success stories at our church because these adults have waited until they are mature enough to make the right decisions and had their parents blessings. Here our just a few examples; Clayton and Robyn McCurdy (they are now missionaries in Meldova), Frank and Kim Bodiker (Andy works on their bus route), Peter and Angie Mowery (Joy works on their bus route), Tim and Gretchen Zesiger, David and Laurie Mowery, Chris and Jaime Green (Jaime's Dad is Representative John Coghill), a quite a few others.
Joy has actually thanked me because she has seen what her friends and cousins have gone through. She wants to go to college to major in elementary education an minor in High School Math.
Anyway, I have know idea how I got on this subject but maybe God wanted me to say this.
I don't know. I know that some of you might not agree with me but I feel in my own heart that this is what Gods wants.
How many people can say that there daughter is still pure at 17, and there children have never tried drugs or alcohol? I am pleased with my children and I know that they can fell me but if I am being here for them and doing my job as a mother, then the chances that they will fall into temptation are smaller and I know that I did it Gods way.
God Bless you and have a good weekend.
Do you have a church that you go to that really preaches the gospel?? Try one!! You won't be sorry!
