Sunsets taken from Kathy Adams

Lily Scott

Hi,
I got to babysit my cute niece today and yesterday! I haven't seen her since Christmas. She is one happy baby and even Andy carried her around church. He didn't know what to do with her as a new born! Please pray for her family. Satan is really ripping this family apart.

How to have a good marriage

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had
shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no
secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe
box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to
open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one
day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not
recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the
shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.

She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money
totaling $95,000.

He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she
said, " my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue.
She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll."
The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two
precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two
times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with
happiness.
"Honey," he said, "that explains the doll, but what about all of this money?
Where did it come from?"

"Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling the dolls."

Tennessee Ten Commandments

Some people in Tennessee have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in the Ten commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms.. So, some folks in middle Tennessee got together and translated the 'King James' into 'Jackson County' language..... no joke, read on...

The Hillbilly's Ten Commandments (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro, TN)

(1) Just one God
(2) Put nothin' before God
(3) Watch yer mouth
(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
(5) Honor yer Ma & Pa
(6) No killin'
(7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal
(8) Don't take what ain't yers
(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'
(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff
Now that's kinda plain an' simple, don't ya think? Y'all have a nice day.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

I cannot believe it!! It was up to 36 degrees today!! We walked out of school and felt like shedding our coats! WOW!! What a wonderful Valentines present from our Dear Lord!!
The students were very hyper today, hyped up on candy and expectations for the day!

This week was a very hard week for us. One of my friends was driving home around 55 miles an hour when a school bus pulled out in front of her and the front of her van went under the bus T-boning it and injuring most of the passengers of the van. It was amazing that no one was killed and that the worst injury was a broken leg. God was good to them! Nathan, the 12 year old broke his leg is in my English class. I doubt that he would be at school for a while. My friend Claudia has a fractured ankle, and other minor injuries.

FRIGID

It's another cold day, -47 and once again we are house bound. Pray that my children won't drive me too crazy!! It could have been -55 this morning! My sister-in-law Linda in Tok, said that it was -64 there yesterday! Count my blessings!! What about your blessings? What have you told God that you are thankful for today??
Bill and I had to go into town last night and when we took off in his truck, it felt like we were doing the 'caveman' thing!! Our tires were square! It took a couple of miles to warm them up so they will drive smooth again. The ice fog wasn't to bad but in the morning it was thick as pea soup I heard! There was some kind of accident and vehicles were backed up for miles! It is kind of scary to be driving in the ice fog and then all off a sudden there are brake lights in front of you! Did I mention that it has been slick here ever since it rained about three weeks ago? Do definitely pray for my husband and others as they travel these roads.
We went to Walmart to get milk etc. and then rented some videos so the kids have something to do after their chores.
It should warm up on Friday!! I feel sorry for the students and all the make up work that I am planning on giving them!!
When I went to start my van for Bill, I was wearing my long flannel robe, tennis shoes and my long coat, I was out there for about two minutes but it took me longer than that to warm up!
Once again, Bill just left for work and I am going to dive into my warm bed because it is quite chilly out here in the living room.

BBRRRRRRRR!

WHEW,
"BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!" It's -44 below and the ice fog is so thick that you can't see my next door neighbors houses. Once again we get to stay home! I just got Bill off to work with a big lunch and a big cup of hot chocolate! Since his truck was not plugged in properly, he had to take my van which is warmer anyway and there is no way that I am going anywhere today!!! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as cold.
Anyway, Bill and I invested in a wonderful invention called an electric blanket so since he just left and the kids are still asleep, I am going to crank up the blanket and get warm!!!!
Please pray for all the commuters out there!! They can freeze to death in no time!!

Princess birthday party

We had a lot of fun at Sarah Zesiger's birthday party. Her daughter Crystal planned it and we surprised her. It was great fun and I got to decorate her princess castle cake. We played kiss the frog and used toilet paper to make "princess dresses".

I praise God for Sarah, she has been a very dear friend to me.
